Shane O'Roark is the sole owner and CEO of Claycomo Shooters Indoor Range LLC.
He purchased the building to house his security company (Homeland Security Protective Service, www.homelandsecuritykc.us). However, it was dual purpose. He felt there was still a desire for previous patrons of the range as well as new ones to continue to utilize it. Training opportunities were also still a need. When you shoot you must train and practice. With many experienced trainers in his network this seemed like a logical decision to continue this range.
Shane is a life long resident of the Northland with well over 25 years of public safety experience. His primary law enforcement career began with the Kansas City Missouri Police Department where he retired in late 2013 to take on his current position with the security company.
During his law enforcement career, which started in 1990 as a dispatcher he received numerous letters of commendation for the apprehension of violent criminals for crimes such as bank robbery, armed robbery, weapons violations, narcotics violations, domestic violence, burglary, assault and homicide suspects. He has been awarded service ribbons for good conduct, firearm proficiency, tenure, safe driving and meritorious service. He has attended numerous hours of continued and specialized training education during his career.
He has held positions as a district patrol officer (Central, Metro, North and Shoal Creek Patrol Divisions), Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Officer and Field Training Officer(FTO). Other positions also include- Traffic Officer, General Detective, Cold Case Detective and Deputy Chief of Police of a local suburban agency. He is currently a Reserve Captain of a Missouri Sheriff's Department and a Reserve Detective at Claycomo Police Department.
Shane is also the owner of Government Fleet Sales, an independent auto dealership. (www.government-fleet-sales.com)
As a tenured law enforcement official in the Kansas City area he has the experience and networking contacts to enhance and build this range and training facility into it's next chapter.
